I like the idea of it showing temps etc, my caddy is a low low line, this may be better than changing the clocks

You can probably get a loom and all the bits to make them electric pretty cheap thinking about it.

So got a few little bits done tonight, the light drawing in early is ruining all my after work van fun Image

1. Fitted passat interior light with led bulbs, much better than the crappy standard one.

2. Fitted my WiFi hub, will find a place where I can hide it but in the fag lighter will do for now.

3. Treated some horrible rust spots on the bonnet, looks ok if you squint from a distance Image

Also managed to get a Touran front bumper for £40 after searching for weeks!! Will paint the rear bumper at the same time, hopefully next weekend. ImageImageImageImageImage

I have seen that people are painting the inside of the headlights matt black, is this easy to do?

Few more bits done this evening. Got the most of the sound proofing / insulating finished, can get the ply & carpet ordered now Image
Also put some smoked side repeaters on, might tackle the headlights this weekend ready for the Touran bumper Image ImageImageImage

They are 2003 Mercedes E-Class wheels (17's), literally had them lying around as I changed the wheels on the merc for bigger ones. Offset is good, fill the arches nicely now I have the coilovers on now. I'll check the tyre size Image

Time for an update!

So after 2 weekends of ripping my knuckles to the bone, finally got the coilovers fitted. (many learning experiences had, thanks for help on the rears from general chat Image)

I fitted the JOM coilover kit, all I can say is if it came with instructions I wouldn't have had to use all the swear words, you will see why further down.

Start with the rears, oh the rust. So much rust. Every bolt had welded itself shut. If your going to attempt this, just make sure you start on a Sat morning so you can give yourself a chance to chill out before work on Monday morning to avoid your colleagues getting throttled from Van hangover Image (also having the axle flip instructions would have saved many hours)

The fronts, not as bad but a few key learnings picked up.
1. Do both sides at once, make sure you undo the antiroll bar links as you won't be able to get the struts out.
2. You have to remove the scuttle, wipers, heat shield and wiper motor first.
3. Club hammer is your best friend.

Luckily my dad has a welder, one of the top mount bolts was spinning so he welded it back on the strut. (You can scrape the rubber off from underneath first)

End result, nice smooth ride not back jarring which was a surprise! Easy to adjust once fitted (could easily go another 15mm lower at the front and 20mm at the back) so for shows nice and easy.

If anyone is doing this and needs advice let me know as everything that could go wrong did go wrong Image anyway a few pics of my much earned hard work.
