Black Caddy 1.6 CR - Evolve Tuning

Post by carlosfilippsen »

Hi guys,

I'm Carlos, I run a remapping business in Devon and cover most the South West. The Caddy was purchased to be used as a mini mobile workshop and was fully standard when I bought it a month ago. I have slowly started modding it and will be using some of the awesome build threads on the forum for inspiration!

The spec is basic:-

1.6 TDI 102hp with 78k Full History
Electric Windows
Electric Heated Mirrors
Air Conditioning
Parking Sensors

Progress so far:-

H&R Front Springs
Darkside Rear Shackles
Remap & EGR Delete
Android Headunit
18" BBS Pescara ED30 Wheels
Dashboard Storage

To do:-

Upgrade to Highline Module
Retrofit Cruise Control
Multi-Function Steering Wheel
Touran Armrest
Van-X Glovebox
Colour Code Bumpers
Mk6 GTD or Scirocco Front Seats
Rear Converted as a mini workshop
Electrics / Leisure Battery

A few pictures the day I picked it up:

The bodywork looked tired and needed a bit of attention. The first thing on the list was a full detailing session to bring it back to its former glory..

Android headunit fitted..

Lowered on H&R Springs and Darkside Rear Shackles. The rear has settled a little too much and needs to come up another 10mm..

On the 1.6 tdi can you safely delete the egr without removing the dpf?
I’ve been advised not to remove dpf as it will soon be needed to pass mot emissions test

Yes you can Ben. The EGR delete will not cause any issues with the DPF still in place. I also strongly advise not to remove the DPF and it's not something I offer.

Hi, didn’t realise you did the mapping yourself.
I’ve noticed on your website you are based in Bideford, I’m near Exeter.
What do you charge for re-map and egr delete?
Also do you put on rolling road before and after?
Many thanks
Ben

I don't think they do.. This one is an official VW item but the dimensions are a lot smaller than the Caddy 4 dash storage hole.

I haven't posted for a little while but I have sourced a highline steering wheel module, cruise control stalk and a highline MFSW which I will be fitting and coding tomorrow :)

Looks so nice in black! Why would you reccormend not to remove the dpf? There known as a common issue arnt they? Ofocurse friendly mot tester might be needed...
