2011 Pure grey Maxi 2.0 TDi

Post by BcPitta »

Just picked this up last weekend so going to start a little build thread so i can hopefully pick some brains for ideas and info

its a 2011 plate with the 2.0 TDi engine ( seem quite hard to come by compared to the 1.6 )
not too bad shape just needs a new windscreen and a dent in the sill sorting out but was a bargain.

Went on an ebay spending spree seen as they sent me a 20% off voucher so thought id make the best of it so far ive ordered:
- Mk6 golf cruise control stalk (hoping this is the correct one but we shall soon see)
- LED headlight bulbs H4 300w 6k
- Black rear badge
- RNS315 Stereo from a Seat Leon
- Dab Aerial
- Satnav Aerial
- 2015+ Rear bumper protector ( still to source the bumper for it to fit haha)
- Bonnet protector/deflector
- Smoked 3rd brake light ( original was cracked)
- Smoked 2016 rear lights
- 2016 Vw polo multifunction steering wheel ( none cruise model )
- Airbag to match
- Mk1 Audi TT vents
- Highline style upper grill gloss black
- Highline lower 3 grills and fogs gloss black
- Highline lower splitter gloss black
- Wind deflectors
- Full 7 seater VW touran interior (salvage yard weighed the shell in with the seat mounts in place so still hunting for those)

thats about it so far, need to source some wheels sharpish.
will add updates when i can

Hi. Good to see another caddy maxi Kombi in natural grey.

That is quite a list to start your modding.

Have a look for some rail covers for the 2 rear sliding doors.

Are your current grills removable? Some (un-painted ones) are moulded into the bumper so you won't be able to just change the grills.

they look removable, top grill looks possibly plastic welded but ive changed a few of those on corsas ect back in the day so will have to inspect it . if not will look for a primed bumper to add my bits too. cheers

Yours could be pure grey, did looking the V5c and mine shows as just grey.

Have a look here https://www.caddy2k.com/forum/viewtopic ... 13&t=32111

99% happy with what I have done so far. Next year will be roof spoiler, alloy wheels resprayed to something like gunmetal, ceramic coating for the exterior, engine cover and a redo of the wheel arch boxes to give a bit more permanent storage.

Fitted the bonnet protector and LED bulbs cupple days ago so will add pics soon

found a touran in a local scrappy to get the front seat bases and rear seat mounts from ...... what a ballache no wonder nobody sells them took too of us about 2 hours to get the back seat mounts out and it wasnt the cleanest removal in the end so hopefully itll still work when we come to weld it back in!

Hey bud nice to see another Kombi, you've done a fair bit more than me mind.

Where did you get your rear black badge from? I've only found one fella selling them on eBay and it was way too big and had to be sent back.

Looking forward to see what else you get up to.
