Mondays update...

Foam insulation arrived 10metre roll...

Very good stuff so easy work with.

Have done all the panels in the rear and have loads left! Now going to use some for front cab and any excess i will double up in areas to use it all up!

also silver foil taped around the edges of the foam to completly box it off. Not sure if il make any difference but o well!

Any gaps remaining are now being filled with loft insualtion.

Been busy today! Not much left now!....

Todays jobs...

- finished floor insulation in the grooves.
- fitted low side panels for little cubby hole pockets - currently being held in place for glue/expanding foam to set over night.
- wired up rear led strip light.
- wired up 4 roof led's and 2 floor led's all inline to work off a 3 pole switch so can be operated from opening any door. Or perminant on posistion or off.
- fitted net pockets on back doors
- finished off front cab insulation and thermal foil tapped all remaining gaps so should work as a barrier to keep heat in hopefully.

Jobs left to do...

- carpet front cab head lining and other panels and put back on.
- cut and carpet rear side panels and side doors
- fit roof switch (not yet arrived)
- put floor in (just orginal rubber mat for now)
- find some blinds for rear windows.

Welcome mate. Im onto the hardest part now which will be cutting these side panels as i want them to be a good fit...

When you do yours make sure you buy plenty of new knife blades as they go blunt so quick!
Also the spray glue pretty much doesnt come off so be very careful were you spray with it!
Spray on both sides and then leave about 1 minute then put together and holds great.

Im going to get my little hair trimmer on some patches which are sticking out to just neaten it up abit!

- little update .... glued the side cubby hole pockets on. And placed original rubber floor back in. It needed a little trim but for now it will do. I can easyily chuck my dirty mtb in an then pull flooring out and jetwash afterwards.

My 3 way switch has arrived so will get that on this weekend and get some photos up of the led's!

Good idea shoving the rubber mat back in, seems a good solution to muddy bikes dropping crap all over the place. If it does it currently it just lands on my roof and then flies off, will have to either get a van with the matting or pick one up afterwards.

**update**

The snow slowed me down abit on the build but slowly finishing it off...

Have now carpeted the front cab roof lining and sunvisors and refitted. Looks awesome but havnt managed to get a picture of it yet..

In the process of wiring up my 3 pole switch for the lights but seen a few different wiring diagrams for how to wire it but sure il figure it out!

Heres a picture of the van in the snow 😁

Very nice build mate I’m looking to do something very similar.
I just need to sell my car first then find a decent van

Looking good, giving me inspiration for carpeting mine out! Bit in the nervous side about doing it as i haven't done anything like that before!

** UPDATE **

Couldnt figure out the wiring for the rear lights so for now i put a 2 pole switch in just simply on/off does not work with doors opening...
I will figure it out one day ha!

Have now cut an insulated rear side panels inside.
Just need to do the top side door panels.

In the process of making my own rear window insulated covers held on by tiny magnets. I looked on ebay for some covers an they were all very expensive, my friend has some suction ones in his t5 an there always falling off due to condensation on the glass. So im making my own with carpet + insualtion i have left over an magents cost me £2 off ebay! Will post pics when complete..

I have had a issue with van going into limp mode once.. took to garage an they said it was ECU..

Longer down the line nothings been done except cleared the fault code and 400miles later it still hasnt come back! Fingers crossed!

Only other issue is the roof tree clips have been falling out - i think its because i have cheapo ones in so going to buy some better quality ones for the roof.

Weekend just gone had my first night in the van was great fun heres couple pics... got windscreen cover from fuel lagoon via ebay well worth the buy fits perfect an keeps all the light out!

I was warm all night with duvet on airbed,
an with both windows open a tad under windeflectors!
