This arrived today from eBay:

Thanks to TonyC for the link...

5 minutes to fit:

Although Oakley Straight Jackets don't quite fit, probably time for a new pair anyway.

Had a few battery issues a month ago during the snow. Cold temperature coupled with van not being used for 5 days meant a flat battery. AA came and started it and I think it's the 500mA wifi that's draining it, this is how it will be until I get round to fitting the leisure battery for the AV system.

In the meantime I've fitted one of these to see battery state and get notifications of potential starting problems. It's a CTEK Battery Sense and will also get another one for the leisure battery.

It's not recommended to fit anything directly to the negative battery terminal on EU5/EU6 vehicles with IBS, it's also very difficult due to the captive nut on the battery post, so made up a small bracket to attach to the separate negative post next to the battery, ensuring that it's "outside" of the intelligent battery sensor.

Thanks!

Wheels are ET45 / 7.5J and sliding doors are clear. Am planning to lower by 60mm and they should be fine with that too.

Nothing much at the moment. Last month or so I've been out on my bike most weekends. I have a pair of H&R front lowering springs on my garage floor at the moment, I'll be ordering the Darkside rear shackle kit when ready to fit, so that's definitely next. After that will be a Triple R Composites front splitter, DC-DC charging with leisure battery before starting on the rear, which will be lighting, curtains, bed & camper pod.

sounds good

reason this popped up was i tried that charge pad install today i made my own but i see you had battery drain issues and i notice ur charge pad is taken directly off the cig lighter socket which is permanent 12v i wonder was this adding to the drain ?

^^^ It's something I'm going to investigate for sure, although I think the drain from the pad will be negligible when the phone is not on it. However I won't know until I measure it. Personally I think it's the 0.75A draw from the wifi, which could drain an already semi-depleted 75Ah battery in sub-zero conditions over 5 days. I have the rear sockets & wifi switched, so OK for longer term parking, but should cease to be an issue with the leisure battery.

I'll post any updates here of course...

Excuse the ignorance (Aussie here), but why are the plates different colours?

UK plates are yellow on the rear and white on the front, unless you’ve got an historic car in which case you can have black plates with silver lettering.
