Black on black 2.0

Post by jamieprang » Tue Feb 13, 2018 2:55 pm

Hey

Figured i would earn my keep and start a build thread of sorts. Although she's my daily so it wont be too drastic.

Bought as this...

Straight into the garage for a good once over and a timing belt as the service history is a bit inconclusive. Better safe than sorry and all that. Needed a handbrake mechanism.. 100 notes from VW..  Few other small bits and pieces, couple of bulbs etc. But generally all fit and well. Ready for my attention then.

Today. A good scrub at the van to see how the paint work really is. The answer, it needs a machine polish. But thats ok. Inside needs a deep clean but the seats will be getting changed so i'll do those two jobs at once. Passenger side wing mirror missing its cover but thats in the post already.

Fitted my new wheels also. Some Bola B1s. And also some Heko wind deflectors.

Tomorrow i'll be lowering her if all goes to plan.

Thanks man. Appreciate it.

Its absolutely baltic here today so unsure if lowering will be finished or not, but it has started. Intermittent breaks required to defrost hands/feet/face/eyes etc etc.

Finally got the lowering completed and pretty happy with how she sits and looks. Not going crazy low as she still needs to be somewhat usable/practical.

Nice van, what's your views on the wind deflectors. How well do they fit and look?

Thanks man. They fit really well actually. I bought a similar set for my T5 so i had no worries buying these ones. Look great (imo) and a nice snug fit.

Do they interfere with the window or channel in any way?

Nope. They slot right in and don't have an effect on anything. Window goes up and down as before. No rubbing and no leaks.
