Re: Blue obsession caddy 4 build
Quick question - I assume you got the alarm install as well (not just remote start), what happens with the standard remote with this, is it redundant or does it still lock/unlock the van and arm/disarm the Clifford?
TIA

Sorry one more - with manual transmission, is there anything in the two way comms that would tell you that the remote start has failed because van is not in neutral? I guess the interlock that stops the starter turning if the clutch is not depressed must be overridden by the Clifford too.

Yes both remotes work but only the Clifford remote starts yes it has a alarm which you can alarm with your van key and or your Clifford remote and if you open with your car key it send a signal to your Clifford remote to tell you a command has happened. O and if it is in gear it has a safety knock off so it won’t start.
When you start you van as normal you still have to press the clutch as normal. But there is computer magic that involves something else so it Remote starts. Think that’s it.

Nice one cheers, I'll think about this... Got used to warm starts on cold mornings when I had an electric car, I could tell it from the BMW ConnectedDrive iPhone app to preheat the cabin and batteries while it was still plugged into the mains and it would be 22 deg C and ice free when I got in.

You can do that with this Clifford you can add it on as a add on. This is like the main part and you can add and add and add and add and add and add. You get it.

Re: Blue obsession caddy 4 build
So done a couple little things this week. Fixed the rattle which I thought was the glove box. But where I had the alarm fitted a cable was tapping where he ran it along behind the dash. So tidy that up.
Bought caddy life mirrors and had the caps painted so it’s all ready for Saturday to be fitted.
Also bought a new scuttle panel as I damage it putting it back I will fit that Saturday to.
Yesterday had a little remap. So currently around 170bhp. It’s all normal between 0-50 gets there a bit quicker obviously, But over that the power just keeps on going even in top gear which is impressive. So happy with that.

Parking heater is better. Each time a cold motor have to run parked the oil doesn’t come that high... at the long term its not a super solution. Its better to drive away with a cold engine that the oil gets everywhere. Although the newest engines have that as Well just running. Or use a parking heater, the engine when it gets started it doesn’t have to warm up that long anymore.
