Looks good bud, I love a bit of detailing. Are you going to ceramic coat it after ?

No not going to ceramic coat it. I will just do this couple times a year. This is the first time I’ve done it. But learned a lot for next time.
1 is I need more time. And
2 is don’t be scared.

So I left a few scratches coz I was scared I would go through the paint. But there was no way the paint is hard as nails. So I will do it again in April and be bit more aggressive.

Well you’ve done a good job buy the looks of it, I used to do this all the time building up my wax and polish ect. But honestly take a look at ceramic coatings dead easy to do and just protects the paintwork. And makes maintaining a lot easier!

@ash1987

I thought about it. But I have a scratch on the bonnet that could probably do with painting. Plus couple years back I had the side of the van keyed and that needs doing. So at the moment I don’t think it’s a good idea. There is a sense of achievement when you get it all shiny.

I know there’s nothing better than getting out there headphones in and giving the van a good detail. I’m yet to detail mine yet only had her a couple of weeks so I’ve just decontaminated it for now. And just put a couple of coats of wax on to keep me good for the next couple of months. But once the weather starts to get better I’ll give her a good stage 3 detail and a ceramic coat! What products do you use ?

I can highly recommend Zaino Z2 Pro as a top coat. It’s so easy to put on and can put as many layers on as you want - you can top it up after you’ve washed and dried the caddy. The water will bead up and roll off. It’s not quite as good as ceramic but for a diy product it’s great. Ceramic coatings are perhaps best done by a pro in case they go wrong.

Ok I will look into that. Yeah I don’t really want to have a go at ceramic coats. I’ve done my wheels but that’s a different kettle of fish.

If it’s got a good coat of wax, just rinse her down when you get back that’s all I do! Bit anal I know but at least she keeps clean
