Nice man. Very similar to the one I just picked up. Great van to drive. What sort of mileage you rocking? Looking forward to see what you get done.

Ok.... so the first things i done on the Van was give it a good clean, lots of green bits in gaps etc, i then rubbed the rust back and put some hammer right rust primer on it (this is just temporary to stop it getting too bad before it goes in for paint when on on holiday in june)
Image

Next thing i did was fit my seats...
First removed the old seats, the van was pretty dirty so needed a good clean:

After:

I bought the Audi A5 S-line seats thinking id only have to drill 2 new holes for the rear bolts.... but it turned out this wasn't the case, the seat rails are wider than the caddy also, so none of the holes lined up, the bolt hole pitch was about 15mm wider than caddy and mk5 golf seats.
Because the seat would sit quite low and im prett short i solved both problems in one go, i bolted 40mm box section steel to the seat bases then drill holes in to correct places in the top of the box section to suit the new audi seat.

The next thing to do was to get the electric movement and heated seats working... so the movement part is ran straight off a 30A fused live to both seats.
For the heated part i decided to just have the heaters working striaght from a simple on off switch, so i have a switched live to 2 switches that in turn operate to seperate relays for each seat amd i fitted the switches on the centre console near the gear lever.

I also removed the large shelving from the rear, left the smaller shelves on the other side for now.
Also put some tie downs and my biking kit in....

Next up was the Stereo, the van had a double din Sony unit when i got i and a broken parrot bluetooth system, it sounded ok but it was hard work to find music on the USB stick with a single line display.
I also wanted bluetooth hands free and plan to fit a reversing camera in the near future, i managed to pick up a Kenwood touch screen with Bluetooth and Rear camera input on ebay for £115.
Image

Wanted to add a little base but not take up any space in the rear, i found a "new" unused old skool kicker 8" sub on ebay for £30 and bought an 8" sub box that fits nicely behind the seats. This is running of an old skool Calibre Competition CA180 which has been in my mothers garage since about 2000 lol.

Next up was 2 simple little mods... i didnt like the rubber flooring so got some nice tailored mats which came with anchor points that screwed i to the original flooring.

I also removed the roof rack at this point but didn't take any pics.

Then changed the interior bulds for LED.... i found with these they didn't turn fully off when the ignition was on but did when the van was locked, bit of research i found there are small leakage currents that are not enough to light a standard bulb bit will keep the LED on in a dim state, this is fixed by putting a load resistor in parallel with one of the bulb, so i soldered a 1k ohm 0.5w resistor to one of the bulb and all work well now.

Next i managed to pick up a good condition silver Touran front bumper which was luckily very local to me and also at a very reasonable price.
Also bought some 18" wheels off a Seat Exeo.

Both of these were fitted the same day, i plastidipped the chrome on the grill to make it all black and also cleaned up and painted the brakes with black VHT paint while the wheels were off.

A before and after as comparison, the bumper makes a huge difference to the look of the van :D

So that is the thread up to date and where i am with the van after only 4 weeks of ownership.

Future plans are.....
1. The van is booked in for June to have the rear quarter painted, rear bumper, wing mirrors and the bottom part of the front bumper colour coded (leaving the grill parts black) Possibly get a sportline rear spoiler to fit at the same time.

2. The van will be getting lower in the next couple of weeks, can't go too low as it will get driven on some pretty rough roads/tracks transporting my bike about.

3. Fit rear Camera and block up mesh in bulkhead.

4. Sound deaden front doors and all of rear... may fit upgraded speakers at this point as well.

Also thinking of fitting a leather mk5 golf steering wheel and maybe a set of Touran door cards.

Top work man. I'll be watching this one.

104k miles... yikes!! That's a great find. I hunted all over and ended up with 158k on mine.

I feel like I recognise those seats. What are they out of?

Cheers...

I was looking for quite a while as wanted something with air-con as it will be my daily driver... i found this in an old ad on FB Market place... the guy didnt really wanted to sell it, it wasn't exactly cheap but think it was a fair price at £3750.

The seats arw Audi A5 S-line seat, full electric amd heated.

Cool. Well that's a right good price all things considered, low mileage and AC. Great find. Looks much better with the Touran bumper too. I've got the AC too but its currently "broken"... Or at least the button is. And the head gasket was away in mine when I got it. Non stop expense.
