Liams Mk4

Post by Liam »

So its been a year since i sold up my old 1.6 caddy and ive been looking occasionally at finding a replacement so after a few failed attempts over the past week i finally managed to get something i actually liked that was within price and had the spec i was after but also had low mileage 30000 kilometres with full service history

i put a deposit on this today and i collect on thursday morning looking forward to getting my hands dirty modifying it ImageImageImage

I purchased a rear bumper protector last wednesday at the recommendation of caddyluv on here i couldnt get the flippin thing anywhere in black without having to pay silly money for shipping from uk finally settled for a silver one on amazon €43 delivered to ireland ha they are out of stock now that was their last one and the price has shot up now to £98 Image so i got a bit of a bargain

quality is top notch comes with cleaning wipes etc and the tape is ridiculously strong make sure you have it lined up correctly before letting it grip or you can forget about changing position

item code for amazon or ebay etc

grant richards rear bumper protector

GR RBP848S where S denotes silver if you want black version its

GR RBP848

the hyundai dealer i bought the van from gave me a transparent bumper protector from an i40 so i fitted it over the silver to give it a bit more chance of survival

So managed to get the floor ply lined today and carpeted a few of the rear trims

hoping to insulate the floor tomorrow before the ply is finished then carpet over the top so that should be a reasonably good job

made the floor template by putting a row of masking tape down the centre of the van and took all my measurements from that and transferred onto the ply then cut it and banged it into the van fitted first time so was pretty happy about that

still unsure whats the best route to take with the sides yet

oh my vans also returning 4.8litres per 100km which is 58mpg

so far on less than half a tank ive gotten 520km

Good job on the carpeting so far mate 👍🏼 If your doing the floor I’d advise against using the stretchy stuff though as it bobbles like mad eventually, I done it on my old combo and it looked good for like a month! 🤦🏼‍♂️
