So im new to the forum and have recently purchased a 2010. 1.9 TDI caddy to use for a trip to the alps in a few weeks. Its nice and tidy and only on 88k. I don't think this project will go anywhere near as far as others but for the moment im going to sort a few minor issues out and keep it as a nice reliable van.
Plans at the moment.
Re Ply line the rear
Install sound deadening and insulation
Install bike mounts
Improve storage
Repair minor issues
Ill upload some pics of it a bit later but so far ive managed to replace all the ply lining bar one sheet and give it a coat of oil to protect it.

its a standard red 1.9tdi with 88k on the clock and pretty clean, the inside however had a few holes in the ply and a rubber floor with loads of loose screws and nails beneath it. Untitled by darransandwich, on Flickr
so i cut out some new panels, sanded and oiled them to smarten it up for now. Untitled by darransandwich, on Flickr
I had another quick play after work tonight and thought I’d give it a service. I picked up all the bits I needed and have to say the filters were pretty dirty so I’m glad I did. I’ve done all but fuel, I wasn’t too sure about bleeding up the system after so figured I’d have a quick look about before I did that. Untitled by darransandwich, on Flickr

Ive been really busy with the car this week so had no chance of doing anything major but i did manage to replace the dodgy rear door latch.
Hey mate I re used the stock bolts, the tricks key is the fitment inside, I used a Halfords one that fits on a ratchet. You undo both and swap them over. No allignemnt is needed as it’s only a latch.
Where are you based? I could do it for you if your local it’s very simple. I’ll also check tomorrow it’s 100% a 45 and get you a pic of it.
Cheers mate. Mine is missing the bolt. I have a replacement but it was a second hand one from fleabay, so no bolt. I suppose I could always remove the other side and take it to the local builders merchants but I’d probably end up having to buy a packet of 10 lol.
Ah I see, I’ll pull it out and measure the thread for you. You will just need to match the length, diameter and pitch. I’d just go for a cap screw and not worry about the fitment.
