Caddy mtb day van

New to the forum so thought I'd get myself a build thread to keep track of the vans progress.

Bought this ex police caddy back in November with 121k on it. It's the 2.0 140 6 speed so drives pretty similar to the golf I had previously. Also had a white wrap on it before the sale so the condition of the paint is great for the mileage/age

Few pictures of the van before I started changing things, more progress to follow

Cheers:)

On a side note, what's the best way for posting photos without the huge watermark? I've always used Photobucket but haven't had a thread for a while.. any info appreciated:)

I don't use it but I believe that quite a few on the forum use Taptalk to post photos. Hope this helps.

First mod was a seat upgrade. Managed to pick up these r32 cloth seats at a decent price, pretty good condition and comfy as!

Mounted directly to the original caddy bases.

Also picked a full dark grey bulkhead up for the van on the way back up the road with it and added some perspex blanks to help with the noise/heat in the cab, made a huge difference!

Also changed the map light for the multi bulb touran one. Photos of work on the rear to follow:)

Stripped out all of the wood etc that the police had previously had in the van to begin lining/carpeting.

Added a layer or two on top of this before refitting one of the side panel and the floor

And some carpet was added along with some rubber matt for the floor

Definitely not the best job ever done but happy enough with how it turned out!

Plan on using the van for weekends away so decided I needed extra storage but didn't want to loose floor space.

Added some rubber to the floor and stair nosing to finish it off

And some netting to stop my bike helmet/goggles getting scratched

Heading home after a day of biking, the van started to run on 3 cyclinders. Rocker cover off to find one of the tappets had a hole worn though. Into the garage, and when stripping to replace the tappets it was clear to see the camshaft also needed done. A few hundred £££ later and we were good to go!ImageImage

While I was waiting for some parts to arrived, I decided to fit the touran center console and front carpets that I'd bought a few months back, along with some other black plastics, much better! Also gave the touran door cards a clean up while I was at it.ImageImageImageImage
