New to this forum. Thought I should put my project up here so I can get some support, and to share my modification and solutions.
Bought a used Caddy MK4 2016 in Gold with 38000 km on the meter. Had been looking for a cheaper one first, but I wanted 2.0tdi, and most older for sale are 1.6tdi. They few 2.0tdi mk3 for sale are quite expensive. I also wanted DSG.
90% of the caddys for sale are white here in Sweden, and I wanted any other color. Found this MK4 for a decent price. Had everything I wanted except Xenon and automatic climate control. I could live with that.
I would never buy a caddy and keep it standard. Too high, too noisy, too slow, bad stereo, boring seats. So this will all be addressed.
My plan is as follows:
19" wheels
Coilovers
Sound proofing
Audiophile audio system
Electric leather seats
Go-faster-software
One extra seat in the back for kinder garden delivery
Upholstering in the back to make it look nice
Front splitter
Change mirrors
Engine cover + sound proofing of engine
~6k lights all around
Here's a picture from the day I bought it.

First modification was to fit some better lights. The H4 halogen light are pretty crappy.
I bought a pair of Ledson H11 Extreme Focus. They are about 4500 lumen for a pair, or twice that of halogen.
The light is ofcourse much stronger, but the light pattern seems to be a bit messy. Maybe it's like that with halogen also, but that it's more yellow so you don't see it.
Some pictures of the new light.
Installation
Low beam
High beam
On the road
Difference halogen and LED

I picked the 2.0tdi for a reason. It responds really well to software tuning.
Going from 110hp to 194hp and from 250nm to 400nm made a huge difference.
I choose a swedish flash tune called BSR. Very easy, and it backups the stock software to their server.
Hi are the h11 a straight swap or do they need to be coded mines a MK4 2017 thanks Gary

I have started the sound proofing also. So far only the two doors in the back.
First layer with butyl/metal mat, also called constrained layer damper (CLD) tiles or mat.
Second layer is like thin CLDs but with foam on top.
Other door.
It hasn't made any impact on noise yet, but I didn't count on it either. Only the rest of the car left now...

They were a straight swap. The resistance is high enough for most cars with canbus.

If you do, don’t make the same mistake I did.
You’re supposed to detach the lamp from the socket and install the socket first. Otherwise you have to bend the springs holding the socket in place.

Bought a set of 19 inch Audi rims. I will not install them until I have coilovers in place. A tractor doesn't look better with big wheels .
Couldn't resist to put one in front of the car. I probably want them a bit darker, so some sanding and paint and it'll be nice.

Looking good so far. Well done.
And the Gladen sound deadening is not bitumen based. It is butyl rubber based, same as Dynamat.

Thank you. And you are correct. Bitumen is the cheaper stuff that smells when hot. I will edit my post.

Ordered S3 calipers today, will fit them together with 345mm discs. Looks so much better. Can't decide if I should paint them in the same color as the car, or maybe silver or black... Also ordered some pre-cut window tint for the rear windows.

I didn’t think gold was a nice color until I see yours.
Looks great. Nice mods.
