Here's a useful post on briskoda.net, basically clarifying whether your 315 has BT, DAB or a combination of both:

http://www.briskoda.net/forums/topic/28 ... bluetooth/

Seems as though mine is a non BT unit, mis-sold on eBay :(

My RNS315 did the same thing when you pressed the phone button it just said mute but after it was coded in vagcom and had a microphone connected the BT then worked.

Gibbo, just a suggestion here but why not post up your instructions for everyone to see? I don't see the point it instructing an individual via email when the entire forum can benefit and save the question coming up again. I personally refrain from giving detailed instruction via email or PM for just this reason. Better to serve the community than one individual.

Yeah that's a fair point it's only my instructions are on a print out so I will have to take photos of it but that's no problem, I wasn't trying to be clever !!

Have you got the part number and I'll see if it says it's got BT on etka.

If the case was swapped over only vcds will tell the true part number. Fingers crossed its not the case

In theory that is a bluetooth enabled RNS315. Etka says it has 'preparation for telephone with voice control without 3 key module'.

As for the case being swapped, don't these have anti tamper stickers on the screws so you would know for sure if it had been opened.

The MAC address is all zeros therefore has no internal Bluetooth, if the Mac had a numeric value it would have Bluetooth

I think theres only couple of sticker strips along the body that would obviously have to be broken.

You're right caddymat - all zeros in the mac address means no bluetooth.

Only reason I know is im currently trying to install the same head unit in my van, mine has a MAC address so has the built in Bluetooth, problem is the phone button just mutes the unit, sat nav works a treat but the DAB radio is not accessible either?
Think I need to find somebody local with vcds to activate it
