Mine had put a rod through the block as oil pump had collapsed but most of the engines I've done that had head problems turned out to be block issues as well so not worth doing.
The earlier pd goes in nicely and you can get over the crank sensor issue by repining it on the wiring and slight exhaust mod saves a lot of cash
that all sounds great but out of my knowledge area, I think just a bit more than I really know how to do myself ! I'm worried is is the block as well as head gasket talking lots more money if it is

Hello Guys

I'm on the same BLS Boat funnily enough, take a read of my posts you will see I'm having trouble which is now relating to internal damage.

There's a chap in Doncaster who offers a rebuild service using the older 1.9PD 130 Block and internals and combines the BLS head creating a stronger engine. So far he has completed over 20 without any comeback or hassle he also offers a guarantee with his work and advice if needed.

At 1250.00 i think this is a bargain so I've went ahead with his conversion.

Below is kristophers ebay link. Give him a ring if you're in any doubt he is pretty knowledgeable with Vw/Audi engines. (Apologizes if I'm not meant to post links)

I have a spare BLS head and block but will need a good strip down, clean and rebuild

If you are interested, feel free to PM me :-)

Caddy is back in my possession.

The donor Engine was a Mk4 Bora Tdi ASZ 130 with 98k on the engine, Cant really say much Its been mapped out with an economy remap and i have to say its 100 times better than my BLS engine ever was. Love having that extra bit of power, going for the bigger turbo and egr delete next. 8)

Overall very happy with the results!
