Re: My first caddy and VW - TANGOED MTB build
So 3rd time lucky after 2 attempts of spraying the rear badge and it kept going cloudy with the temperature dropping in the evenings.
But finally managed to colour code my rear badge orange & black.

Will be looking at 60mm drop and maybe swapping the 18's for 19's

Re: My first caddy and VW - TANGOED MTB build
So today have had few hours so made a start on the main frame for the rear.
All made out of 2x2 so strong enough for my weight easily.

So another good day have managed to box most of it and then ran out of 12mm for the other top compartment.
But looking good and strong and bed is 6ft3 so just enough for me

Re: My first caddy and VW - TANGOED MTB build
So had bit of time just to tidy the outside of the box with some leftover from the floor.....
Just few small jobs to tidy it up
And wired in the flexible light from the leisure battery so can be inside the van or light up the side awning when camping.
Next will be finish of the top of the bed as my foam has arrived now then upholster it all at some point.

Re: My first caddy and VW - TANGOED MTB build
Doesn't actually attach to the van, as it's a drive away awning so you just park next to it and the cover goes over the top.
It's really sturdy in the wind though, doesn't move at all.
Best £200 have spent in long time

Get one you won't regret it, me and the misses loves it. Can stand up so easier to get dressed and cook ect. Mate bought one as soon as he seen it for himself

Re: My first caddy and VW - TANGOED MTB build
Is it a blow up awning or do you have poles ? Looks like our air tent we have that we pump up? If so I'd be interested in a link?
