Caddy business?

Post by Celticrsmith »

Just wondering if anyone runs their own business from the back of their caddy? I’m sure there are plenty of ‘company caddys’ but I’m interested to hear if anyone self employed uses their van to make a living.

We do, but to be honest, if doesn't get used much (does like 12 miles a week).

My own business runs out of an old mk2 caddy. Looks like crap, but I prefer it.
Sorry chaps, much as our 2k looks nice, I prefer my Mk2. ;)

Caddy business?

Can’t fault it. I upgraded from an old Combo because it wasn’t a good look pulling up outside customers multi million pound houses to work on their £100k cars with a van that made me look like a pikey 🤭 The caddy looks so much better and from the comments it gets I think it makes my customers feel more confident that I’m going to do a professional job.

That’s cool. We’re you in to bikes prior?

I’m desperate to be self employed but I don’t have a trade behind me. I think if it were something I was really into prior then I’d consider it. I enjoy fishing but the wife won’t let me be a monger lol

If you came to my house the first thing I would spot is the illegal number plate.

One of my pet hates I'm afraid. When you buy a personal registration you make a declaration that you will not mis-space or misrepresent the registration or risk a fin and foreit of the number. So why do people ignore what they sign up to?

Blatant law breaking is hardly professional in my opinion....

I get what your saying but In all honesty I don’t think you can judge someone’s business on that. You would take into account recommendations, previous work and in barbels case what quality his vans in

Just my opinion also

What can I say, I'm a very naughty boy :?

The numerous police cars which I encountered on my journey through London today didn't seem to have a problem with it, neither do ANPR cameras, speed cameras or the Dartford toll cameras so I'd suggest that you don't lose any sleep over my serious law breaking either.

I’d do. I’m a decorator. Run about with a load of sanders and sprayers in the back of mine
