So today my poor little van took a bump on the noggin. It was quite windy in North Wales last night and a tree very nearly fell on the van! Very very lucky it escaped with just a ding on the top of the rear door as it could well have been a write off.

Lucky escape :/
Drove to work this morning (Chester/north wales) and it felt like I was flying a plane, the van was all over the place on the M56!

I think the Rhino KammBars saved the vans life. No damage on the bar itself but I can only assume the log hit that before the actual van. So glad I re-drilled the roof and moved the bar to the back now!

Yeah I'm gonna give the guy a ring today or this weekend, get a quote and what not! Asses the damage to the wallet as well as the van!

After the vans fight with a tree it's seen a bit of neglect. I've been away with work a lot recently and not had the energy to put some work into it! This weekend however I managed to give it a scrub and do a few little jobs I've meant to do for ages.
Finally fitted my new heater knobs. China's best!

And after a long time I finally sorted out the front roof bar. I had previously cut the bars to the same length however the mounting points at the front of the vehicle are further apart than the rear. This left the front bar looking a lot shorter than the rear and a little odd. So I cut a new bar down to match the rear bars overhang. It's the little things!

Due to my absence I haven't managed to get the dent repair guy out yet. That's next weeks job hopefully!

Still no progress on the dents as the repair guy is being a little elusive!
However, today I did get the rear windows tinted finally! Gone for 5%, can't see in much but I was pleasantly surprised with the visibility from inside the van out! Work was done by North Wales Tuning and Tinting. I'd highly recommend, fast, reasonably priced and came out to my place of work to do it!

Got a few jobs ticked off this week.
Finally fitted the genuine VW aux connection to the van. Annoyingly all the blanks in the dash were the wrong size. Ended up fitting it into the money tray as I wanted it accessible.

Made a start on the roof insulation as well. Finished the cab and half of the rear. Yes, the van is now mostly held together with tape!

Pulled my finger out a bit recently!
Finished the rear insulation and refitted the standard roof panel back into place.

Sorted out the annoying whining noise that was caused by a bad earth on the aux! Crystal clear now!

The Touran seat bases arrived from eBay. Thank you CaddyLuv for finding these for me! Which meant that I could finally fit the new seats. Chuffed with them! Much more comfortable than the originals and loads more storage!

Unfortunately I haven't hooked them up to be heated but I may have a look into doing it in the future. Does anyone know of any decent waterproof covers that would fit these seats?

Not sure yet. Need to investigate heating them a bit further! See the cost and what's involved!
Thanks for finding those bases mate!
