Tired of the lack of light in the back of the van so made some windows in the bulkhead. Just 3mm polycarb nut and bolted in. Need to tidy up the edges and run some silicone round but should do the job

Did you do this as a whole sheet on each side or is there some very neat joints going on there?Cheeseburger wrote:Had my first go at carpeting. Sore furry fingers but not at all a bad result I think

Re: What did you do to your van today?
Got home from a trip offshore and stuck it straight in for a MOT, straight through with no advisories. Happy with that for a 11 year old van, only got 40k on the clock right enough.
Got hold of Stan the man for my heated seat looms, so they should be en route soon, looking forward to getting those wired in.

Re: What did you do to your van today?
Are you getting heated seats wired into the original system? This was the one comfort feature I missed to check when I got the new Caddy and I would really to get it mounted into the original seat and the original wiring if it's possible without too much work.

Re: What did you do to your van today?
Today was a good day well kind of haha,
I drove 300 miles to pick up some 65 plate standard caddy seats with gte seats covers on and a van-x arm rest. This part was great nice drive down, meet a top bloke in Slough with a really nice caddy.
I fitted the driver's seat no problems but when I came to tighten the last bolt on the passengers seat rail it seemed really tight. I then took the bolt out cleaned the thread made sure it's wasn't cross threaded then put it back it in. I then got the bolt to the same part as before so I went for it and put a bit of pressure on the spanner to get the bolt to go and it went past the the hard bit, but now the bolt keeps turning doesn't get any tighter or looser and I can't get it out of the rail and because it's one of the bolts on the back end of the rail the seat will only go back so far, any idea on how to over come this. Do I need to buy a new seat base and bolt any suggestions?

JimR, yeah I bought a set of Golf R heated seats, and more recently picked to a replacement heater / AC control panel with heated seat controls. Got in touch with Stan the man on here and he’s made me up a set of looms, so will be as OEM as can be

Looking good! Excuse the OCD, but it looks like those vent rings need a bit of bending (so that they're flush with dash)...

Re: What did you do to your van today?
Yeah, some gentle bending over the knee (I'm gonna put you over my knee little f----!), does the trick, just do little bends at a time, so you don't put a kink into the ring...
I got a bunch of extra handles, because they're completely crap and break all the time, so I had one sprayed to see what it would look like. I'm not totally convinced, the spray shop gave it a few goes, but couldn't get it to match the silver of the door handles and other aluminium bits (apparently the door handles are chrome dipped, which was too expensive for an experiment)...
