2015 Caddy pings and says ‘oil’

Hi,
Just looking to see if this is a thing. Just got a Caddy, my first and after about 400 miles of use I got in one afternoon and turned the ignition on then it made the bing noise and it said ‘oil’ on the display. No lights came on the dash and it drives fine. One thing I noticed that when I drive and it gets upto temperature then stop the fan runs for a short while.

Hope that makes sense, I’ve not been driving a long way since the notification came up. Would anyone know what that’d be? And sorry if this is the wrong place for this.

If the van is showing an oil warning, check the oil level asap.

Yes I second that answer , as for the fan mine does that too , seems to do it more on shorter journeys , but check water level too while your pulling the dip stick .

Hi,
Checked the oil and it’s fine, there’s no oil warning light it’s just the word ‘oil’ when you turn on the ignition then it goes away after maybe 20seconds. I’m thinking it might just need an oil change and that’s what the ping and oil notification on the display is

Could be a faulty/broken level sensor. Have you had a look at the sump to see it the sensors missing,unplugged ?

Got it sorted.
I had been doing short journeys and parking it on a steep slope, parked the opposite way and that was it. And I feel like an idiot now for thinking that it was going to explode
