What did you do to your van today?

Post by Barbel330 » Sun Jan 06, 2019 4:14 pm

I was a bit embarrassed that fellow caddy2k member (James400) saw it in the filthy state it was in, so I gave it its first wash for 2 months Image Added a bit of extra paint protection for the coming months while I was out there. My mate took these photos of it afterwards.

Thanks mate. No ceramic left on it now but I have used it in the past. At the moment it’s got 2 coats of in2detailing ceramic wax which was applied in about September I guess? Today i topped up the protection with a coat of CarPro Hydro2lite which is a quick and simple solution. You just spray it onto wet paint and immediately jet wash off leaving a glossy and hydrophobic coating which lasts 2-3 months 👍

I’ve never used theses product before I usually use Koch h8 and the the menzerna 3800 super finish on the old da, then the geyon prep to wipe down the panels and seal with a carboncollective oracle but haven’t done a ceramic coat on the van yet as I’m waiting for the weather to sort itself out. But I’m thinking about using the father in laws double garage

Noticed the left front wheel arch splash guard was damaged, which was letting water in. The structure behind was all bent out of shape too.

Spent a few hours today straightening it out, removing the corrosion and repainting and resealing, before it got any worse. New splash guard arriving next week.

Complete bodge but should last a wee while longer. ImageImageImageImage
