Post by E-Bagge »

I guess that I am not alone with the headache with
The bad caddy cup holders. Anyone have a good tip
Where to find a good insert?

Thanks doc, but I think I need a more permanent solution rather than a new coffy mug.

Anyone else with good tips?

I understand, I'm an addict too. I don't know how long I'm in this van for, maybe only a few years, so my coffee cup stays.

Stick a few small/kid sized wristbands round the bottom of the cup. It does affect the swing, balance and swig very slightly, but it's more comfortable when you're holding the cup from the base with your other hand, and helps the cup stay quieter, so no one knows how many brews you're going through.
Sorry chaps, much as our 2k looks nice, I prefer my Mk2. ;)

I found the touran arm rest has a slightly smaller cup holder which stop stuff flying out quite as much the caddy one

There is a guy the ccuk Facebook page that 3d prints inserts which look pretty decent as well

A guy in one of the fb groups was 3d printing some inserts to hold the cups better. They looked decent and were only a fiver I think. Worth a search over there 👍🏻

google thingverse, you can get an insert for the cupholder and it works perfectly.

costs less than £20 printed and delivered

Thanks for the thingiverse link.
Have a 3d printer at home , doing not much with it, and awaiting my Caddy.

It's funny though that the cup holders are a point where people complain about, yet I did not even look at them during my test drive.
But I am more of a soda drinker then a coffee one, so it could well be the cup holder is adequate for me.

It's a nightmare with bottles, second time now I got my interior marinated with coke. Really pisses me off.

Thanks for the link, I'll order one straight away!
