Noob Intro and Golf alloys onto Caddy Q

Post by Nodd13 »

Hi,
Noob forum member with a question that has probably been asked before (had a search, couldnt find anything specific).
I am in Droitwich, Worcestershire, driving a 2007 1.9Tdi which I travelled a long way to buy because it has twin sliding doors, AC and at the time low mileage (27,000 in 2013)
Main upgrade so far was cruise control and reversing sensors; Planned: got the dash controls for heated seats, just need the seats and loom now! Also got my eyes on an android head unit for in built sat nav, reverse cam etc.
Anyway:
My '57 is up for 4 new tires after MOT advisory, seems like an opportunity to upgrade and I see a nice set of VW OEM 6,5Jx15H2, ET 50, R15 alloys off a MK5 Golf on eBay.
I read up on putting alloys on vans and got myself worried about weight ratings.
Should I worry?
I see plenty of vans running nice rims out there, seems like its not a problem for most.
I use it as a daily worker, as an industrial gas fitter, carrying tools and fittings but she generally isnt packed to the gunnells, just occasionally.
Also, according to info my steelies offset is 47mm but the alloys I am looking at are 50mm, seems like it should be ok, but any advice?
Thanks!
