Is there a way to turn off the bulb failure on 2010 1 9tdi using vcds?

If so any info would be great :D

I bought led ones other week and they are terrible. They wouldn’t work for me.

I went back to brand new standard ones.

The van runs a test.

5 tests and if there’s a fault then it shuts the power to the lights.

I couldn’t find any decent led ones. The connections are terrible.

Hope that helps

I have been having this problem even with canbus error free bulbs, is you have vcds you can go onto the long coding helper and turn off the bulb failure warning for the number plate bulbs. There is a youtube tutorial if you search it on there. Will tell you which module etc to go into for the coding.

The answer to fixing this with VCDS is no there is no way to turn it off, I tried to find a solution to this myself for some time! There is some other software you can get to sort it but it looked a bit too complicated and risky to me, far too much hassle than it was worth.

I have HIDs, and led bulbs in the side/DRLs and I did get some resistors to sort it but they get mega hot. I decided to whip the instrument panel out, take the front off, peel the bit of the front off and ram some black electrical tape in the bulb hole! You'll never see the bulb light on again!

Any idea what the software is that can do this, it sounds like something I should have.
I wasn't aware of anything for the first generation Caddy 2k bulb error removal.

Not sure which year Caddy you can or can't turn it off on.

I'm not sure it was a while ago when I was looking in to this but gave up. I have a genuine Vagcom cable but on the newer VW's I'm fairly sure you can't turn it off with it.

I think VAS5054 might be the software/cable to make the changes, but seemed far too much effort for me.

I haven't watched all this video, but the title seems to suggest this software will do it. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9ffmGfC_TI4

Oh, ok.
I thought you knew of something relevant to the original posters problem with a 2010 caddy which will have the older control modules. I have the tools for 2010+ already.

Oh sorry I didn't realise it would be that much different.

I’ve got these on a 2010 pre facelift with no errors and they don’t look like a mobile disco either Image
