i ended up going down the mercedes route with my golf, thier batteries are made to ridiculously stringent specs as the can system in them is so sensitive, like doc i fitted the rigid battery box, looks so much better and not expensive from vw either i think i was circa £40 for the 3 parts

On a 2011 caddy 2l tdi do most people use a 096 battery? Different sites keep telling me different batteries

Doc wrote:Hi Alex,
I have a 096 battery in my Caddy and it fits the tray but not the soft cover.
I have fitted the ridgid battery box found on the earlier Caddys and golfs.
I plan to change my battery to the 096 as you guys have done so, as I believe it's on the way out, I've also had a new genuine alternator fitted due to bearing noises..

Any chance you could give me part numbers you used for the box in your caddy?? 3 parts so you say

Also just wanna make sure it will fit in my 1.6 2011 facelift 1.6 caddy 105bhp??

Thanks in advance

Have a look at Tayna batteries website if you're buying. Excellent service from them and quality batteries, not the usual crap from GSF or ECP. I just recently got a 096 Enduroline 78Ah after constantly suffering with battery drain during winter, that despite previously having a new battery from GSF. I've not suffered with any issues since fitting the new one. £80 I think I paid, well worth it.

It is a bigger sized battery si I'm interested if the battery boxes fit the larger size?

That's well priced!
Why did you choose that over the bosch one?
I want something that is juicy, won't let me down and will fit! Lol

Battery box
Trim - 3C0-915-335
Trim - 3C0-915-336-A
Cover - 3C0-915-443-A

They are the same as Golf and you can get Chineses ones off eBay for about £10
If it ain't broke, fix it 'til it is

Thank you
Very much appreciated
Think I found the link online aswell:
https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/VW-Battery-B ... ctupt=true
This above link is NOT GENUINE but a good aftermarket so the seller say.
Will check with TPS though now and get this sorted

Thank you!!

Ill post on this page how I get on.

The Bosch 096 and the 096 Enduroline (the one which you have) are the same size from what I can see.

I opted for the Bosch, and I will will speak to TPS tomorrow to get the box so will keep you posted how it goes

From the previous members replies, all should go all ok
