Its an intermittent problem. Mainly happens when i'm parked or driving slow.
The brake pedal goes hard, and the car wont stop. I then pull up the handbrake and again it doesn't seem to engage the brakes. I noticed if i put the car into neutral and rev it alittle it brings the brakes back. Possibly something todo with vaccum issue?
Anyone come across a problem like this?
My car was parked on a slight hill today, i took it out gear and it started rolling forwards with the handbrake engaged. I slammed my foot on the brake. Again the pedal was hard so quickly put it into gear.
Any help on this would be great.
Thanks

Re: brakes dont work!
It does indeed sound like a vacuum problem, I would start by checking all the vacuum pipes and hoses before looking at the pump. The handbrake will be a separate issue that will need investigation.

Hi, thanks for the reply.
It does seem like a vacuum leak issue the way its behaving. I took it to the mechanic this morning. He couldn't see a leak on the lines, and put it down to the vacuum pump needing replacing. I just hope it sorts the issue.
