The slip ring doesn’t centre the wheel mate
Sounds like you haven’t centred it correctly on the spline
There is a mark on the wheel and a mark on the shaft, they need to be lined up

Just remove the airbag and have a look to see if its lined up correctly as mentioned above. I can't see a problem moving it a notch either way on the spline though to correct it, however maybe someone on here will tell us why you can't do that. If your old steering wheel lined up correctly then the new one should too.

you should always line the marks up and have tracking checked if the steering wheel is not straight. if you move the steering wheel so the marks dont line up there is a slim chance you can damaged the ribbon in the slip ring. i have seen it where someone moved the steering wheel instead of tracking then went full lock round a corner and had error lights appear.

You have 2 solutions.
1st (easy one): remove stearing wheel, rotate it 1 or 2 notches left/right and put it back.
if that cannot compansate EXACTLY to point you want it then ....

2nd (hard one): Go to garage where guys adjust tilt/trim of wheels. Make one side of stearing rod 1/6 (for example) of turn longer, other shorter for the same ammount. Wheel alignment wont change but position of stearing wheel will.
