Caddy Mk4 MFSW with DSG Paddleshift Retrofit

Hi,

I hope you are all well. I am about to start working on a Multifunction Steering Wheel Retrofit for my Caddy Mk4. Currently my Caddy has no MFSW, and Cruise Control installed on the Left Hand Stalk. My Transmission is DSG. My Radio is stock VW with Bluetooth.

I want to retrofit a Multifunction Steering Wheel from a Golf Mk7, with DSG Paddles. Could anyone tell me which Control Module, Slipring & Harness Part Numbers I would need to purchase in order to make this work? Would also like to know what Tool is used to remove the current steering wheel so I can order that online as well.

I live in Africa, so ordering all of these parts from UK is tedious, but I'd really like to get this to work!

Your slipring might already be suitable for mfsw so money saved there

I thought the MK7 steering wheel wouldn't work in caddy's, or is that only for 2k and 2k facelift?

Hi Stan,

Here's a copy of my VCDS Scan...

Seems all the steering wheels on eBay are 5G0... I've been told only 6C0 Wheels are compatible with our Mk4 Caddys though...

I could be wrong, but now it seems since my SWCM is 5K0, i may be able to use a 1K8 MFSW.... If thats the case, I just need to figure out what Airbag Harness and Highline SWCM I need to change to, perhaps BC or something like that...

Thank you for the link! I did spot that one before but wasn't sure having seen the location!

I think i need a BA... On the Ross-Tech Page: http://wiki.ross-tech.com/wiki/index.ph ... e_Versions

BD is listed as a Highline, but the Midline BB that i have already has the Steering Angle Sensor and the Highline BD doesn't have the Steering Angle Sensor... based on that wouldn't it be better to go for the BA that is Highline with Steering Angle Sensor to ensure compatibility?

Its confusing as the Ross-Tech site says that for the BB Model, It's 'NO' for Auto Transmission, but my Caddy is a DSG...

and for the BD like what is fitted to yours @r1lea, it shows 'YES' for Auto Transmission, yet your Caddy is a Manual...

Yes correct, you’d require a “BA”

I’ve added mine don’t forget, was just one I came across

Also, for it to support dsg is so it can support paddles on the wheel

What happens if I find a BA but the HW and SW of that BA Module appear slightly different? HW version seems the same but noticing a different SW version on tue Module stickers...

Perhaps a AL or H Module will also work, as they are also Highline with all 4 options ticked... I wonder if any resident expert on the forum will chime in too....

This is a Highline Slipring together with appropriate stalks... It's an H, and ticks all the right boxes, but may be slightly older. Anyone know if that will matter, or as long as the 5K0-953-569 is the same, single Letter or Double Letter will still work?
