Engine conversions

Post by Cy Russ »

What engines fit in the caddy? Do they use the same engine bars/crossmounts as a golf, touran......
What years would fit?
I know anything is possible but I'm thinking of the simplest way, wiring isn't an issue

Anything used in a PQ platform car will fit mechanically. 1.0-3.6 petrol and 1.6-2.0TDI
From the VW range you've got the Golf, Scirocco, Touran, Tiguan, Beetle, Eos, Passat, even some US and foreign market cars, all built on the same platform.

So the BiTurbo TDI engine from passat would really fit?

Just having a thought, everyone keeps saying that the 2.0tdi is the best engine to go for. You can pick up an 08-09 touran for under £800 with a 2.0tdi in.
Does that mean I would be better off buying a caddy (1.9?) with a wrecked Engine and a touran and swapping everything, engine, dash, rear seats, gearbox etc. This is sounding more and more like a plan.....
