Gogsie's Black 2.0 Tdi

Post by gogsie »

Hi Folks, I've been skulking on here for a while and finally managed to get myself a caddy.

Its a 2.0 Tdi 6 speed with AC and electrics

Loads of plans for it but not till next year.

Sportline ? I think you may find that it's just a normal 2.0 tdi caddy

Sport lines come with a solid bulkhead don't they? And you would have holes in the rear door for the spoiler I'd have though :|

Still nice van though 8)

I think you'll find it is a sportline according to the insurance and dvla anyway.

TBH though i couldn't care less as all the sportline stuff would have been ripped out/off anyway in favour of better looking kit, except the spoiler/splitter of course.

This is my old caddy MK2 hopefully i'll get the 2k looking better.

Good base to start from and great colour

I do echo the thoughts above though i hope you haven't paid sportline price and sportline insurance as it appears its not one!

What seats does it have fitted?

As said the sportline should have wheels, seats, solid bulkhead, splitter, spoiler, as minimum

its a nice enough van but it most certainly ISNT a sportline, i know two people with sportline caddys that ive just vehicle checked and they come up listed as sportline, yours doesnt....
if that van has come with sportline paperwork i would be getting very worried as to what you have bought.....
also if you have that insured as a sportsline in the event of a claim you could be refused......

your caddy...

Yeh iv just done a dvla check on that plate and its a standard 140 non sportline!
If I were you I'd check the paperwork and of its showing its a sportline then you need to find out why !!
The price difference would be significant between the two vans,
Check it out mate , for your own piece of mind.

Re: My Black NON Sportline

Post by gogsie »

Well well i did some checking and it looks like you may be right but like i said i don't really care about the sportline tag as i would be changing most of the sportline bits anyway, the main reasons i bought it where it was cheap, no vat, its black, 2.0 6 speed tdi and its got AC and electrics.

Oh and the insurance company didn't have the specific model in their system so they've classed it as 2.0tdi caddy, The only 09 2.0 caddy they had was a sportline and incidentally there would have been no change in price or cover.

Happy now folks?. :)

I think our fear is your missing the point totally

No one is trying to put you down or call you a liar.

We are saying WHY was it advertised and sold as a sportline?

Maybe just a mistake by dealer etc or maybe someone along the line has cloned/ringed/falsified it's identity for whatever reason. :o

If from a dealer I would be questioning why they have done this. Along side getting the mileage checked via vcds. If someone lies about one thing they are likely to be hiding other things. Maybe sellit as a sportline to gain more interest causing overlooking of deeper issues

If all is well then as you say if you've got it 'cheap' then happy days. But maybe it was cheap for a reason

That's right dave, it's the fact that its been mis sold under a false spec that's the worry!
I'd be checking the vin and engine numbers of it were me !

No worries guys the point was not lost on me its no ringer and its been vagcom'd and HPI'd etc and all is good.

It seems its the insurance companies that got their facts wrong. I'll go eat my humble pie now!.
