Caddy cut out wont start ?

Post by Flameboi201 »

2004 caddy 1.9 tdi 99000 miles full service history . Rite here goes . Driving down the road today van just ran lumpy for a couple of seconds . Then cut out . Pulled over , tryd to start and nothing ! Towd it back to my workshop . Still nothing . Gave it 5 mins and with my foot flat to the floor it started again ran for ten seconds then stopped again . Took the fuel pipes of the filter , put the ignition on , no fuel , didn't prime .so cranked it over still no fuel . So thort fuel pump . Took the tank out . Fuel pump out and powerd it up on the bench, works fine . So I connected it back up and nothing . Checked every pin in the connector and not a single live .should there be a permanent live or will it be switched ? Shorly ther must be something ??? Checked fuses and stuff all seem ok . Any ideas guys ???

409 may be a mk4 relay
Are the sockets numbered?
Think it's J17.
Have you a multimeter to check each relay if it came down to that?

It's the bit inside above the cecm, you will have to take the trim panel off to see it and it will probably only have a few relays in it

Yes all the vans do until 2010-2011, it's higher up than that unit, it's just a plastic cage that houses them
