afcjay wrote:Nice one, how long did it take to swap the dash, thinking about doing it myself in the future

in all it took about 4 and half hours including taking glove box out again, after i had trapped heater cable :( , it looks scary but its actually really straight forward hardest bit is steering column stalks etc, once there off its just a case of finding where all the torx bolts are to release the dash, there are only a couple of electrical plugs to disconnect and then refit and they only go in one place, and everything behind the dash is fixed in place so no worries there.

carrying on with more trimming and more electrical work, traced the faults with the heated window and mirrors and think i finally got to the bottom of the interior light problem, i hope :? .

put the last of the insulation in the roof and trimmed the roof panel with some fake suede fitted some nice led spots and so can now see in the back. cannot believe how much quieter it is with all the insulation in and its not finished yet 8)

been having a play last 2 days , had new bentley style key made, needed spare key so thought why not have a bit of bling :D . had someone come to the house to coded and cut key search for Tom immotec on facebook highly reccommended. he also coded in touran dash and cruise control, now have fuel computer and cruise

when i got the van there where loads of electrical faults and i have been working through them one by one last one was the interior light fault, traced fault to the CECM so replaced it, originally it was 21 byte midline but it would have been rude not to upgrade to 30 byte highline :D :D. swap was relatively easy just have to be careful to swap coding over, and now i have interior lights!!!! and future plans are front fogs (with active turning) and footwell lights plus anything else i find to code in.

was on the look out for some second hand headlamps for a while as the ones that were in the van had some damage on the lenses found some on ebay over christmas genuine touran 4 pots in black got them for £5 :D finally got round to fitting them while the bumper was off fitted the fog lights too front looks so much better with them in. used wiring loom from germany that connects to cecm so have bulb monitoring also when i coded them in i switched static cornering on so now when i indicate the fog on that side lights up then fades out as you straighten up.i will sort a vid out at some point

Thanks , been doing all the mods on a budget and all the work I can do myself, desperate to get it lowered though parked it next to my jeep and the arch gap on the van was bigger

How did you activate cornering fogs? My 09 caddy has fogs from factory and I don't remember seeing this option when my mate went through vagcom options list??
