Bed is almost fully useable. Just need to add a detachable leg to the top left hand corner.
Bed foam is almost done and the upholstery shop. Not long now until the storage unit will be finished.
Feel free to let me know what you think.

Thanks for the kind words guys. Yes it's taking shape now.
Cut out the shelves the other day to contours the side of the van inside the storage unit.
Just bought a removable ikea leg which I hope to trim down to size so it can be used at the end of the bed.
Not much left to do now - getting quite excited! Just need to put something against the wall to cover up the silver foil insulation. Was thinking some cork tiles. Any ideas perhaps?

looking really good. could you not just use some 4 way stretch carpet and glue that to the insulation?

So far after a month I’ve found the 4 way stuff to be a bit poor wear wise.
It goes fluffy/stringy if anything rubs on it slightly
Don’t let Velcro anywhere near it either

good to know, I won't be getting any of that then when I do mine. what about acoustic carpet like the stuff used on boot installs or big amps?

That’s pretty much what it is I think.
Needs to be tighter weave to be harder wearing but I suppose it’s a trade off for having it stretchy

Been working on my storage faces today. Cut them all out, sanded, oiled. Taken most of the day, but my storage unit is almost finally complete. Just need to get some hinges on and some door locks!
More pics will soon follow I'm sure!
Also, got a great hack for those who want to separate the noise from the rear in to the cab even further if anyone's interested...?

Did you buy those plywood side panels? Wish mine had as much coverage as those!

Been a while since I've done much to my van due to work - but bought a centre console with armrest and got some Thule roof bars at a decent price so installed them both today.
Not exactly getting my priorities straight seeing as I still need to finish off my storage unit so I can actually fully open my bed! Oh well...
I've a recently purchased 2009 built Maxi, it doesn't have a centre console but I would love one with the armrest lid. What is involved in installing one?
