Well written thread so far mate. Looks good what you have planned. Once you start messing with it you won't want to stop!

Thanks Tee. Yes, got boring pretty quickly and meant we rarely took the bikes anywhere on the car - just rode around the same routes locally.Tee-caddy wrote:Welcome bloater
Good work on your van already
I too got my caddy as had enough of the bike and car faffing about.
Its so much better now.
Enjoy your modding and travels

Thank you Hef. There are plenty of basic white ones with mega miles and no aircon. I even spotted a few that had wind up windows - in 2017hef355 wrote:Great little find that van mate, well done! Very difficult to get a decent unspoilt Caddy these days! Also welcome to this fine forum community and the mods so far look a great job! Good luck with rest fella

Fairly convinced the previous owner didn't do a lot in it and, like me, was careful with it. No parking dings, the inside is mint and low miles for a 5 year old van.
I am fairly sure you're the same Hef that has a front bumper on eBay that I am watching if you are your van looks awesome sir and if I can sort out a courier I will be interested (if it's still for sale).

Appreciate you stopping by and commenting. Thanks. I am enjoying tinkering with it that's for sure. eBay watch list is now full of Caddy parts rather than actual CaddysLanky wrote:Well written thread so far mate. Looks good what you have planned. Yes mate you got me! The same Hef! Damn shame the bumper sold yesterday! Although it was the one off my van but it was a part ex deal for the guy who made and fitted my front golf mk7 gti bumper! Sorry about that buddy .... I think he may have more in a very short time as he is becoming very busy specialising in custom Caddy's! Well chuffed with mine! This is a photo of the van with 19's ... now has 20's! Pics to follow if the rain ever stops ha!!Bl0at3r wrote:

The rear pillar and the side above the ply lining and side door is that all done in one bit of carpet? Or did it need joining

Technically it should be possible to do in one piece inc wheelarch - but I've got a bit roughly 20x140 going across the top above the lining and door, then another bit down the rear pillar where the door hinges are and that joins to the wheelarch bit. I found it too difficult in one piece
Used plenty of glue and cut the joins neatly - it is pretty invisible

Thanks... I'm no carpet fitter so think I'm going to do similar to mine... was hoping one big piece and just ply the recesses but on closer inspection today think I'll carpet a big sheet of ply for the whole side and wheel arch separateBl0at3r wrote: Technically it should be possible to do in one piece inc wheelarch - but I've got a bit roughly 20x140 going across the top above the lining and door, then another bit down the rear pillar where the door hinges are and that joins to the wheelarch bit. Thanks for the comment - I think they look great
You can see the heating elements at certain angles but apart from that they are completely black right across and look like the factory privacy glass
