Some really nice work there it's even more appreciated when the wife likes what you've done

You should definitely mate. I got the maxi camping pod 2nd hand but it originally came from van furniture. It’s a good set up. Pricey, but you could always knock one up yourself.

@peter
It’s not fitted to the caddy it goes over about a foot and is fixed with string and tent pegs.
I did use G clamps to fix it to my roof rails just for the more security

This is a fantastic build, not just an engine swap but the attention to detail across the build has been exceptional- really enjoy reading about the changes you have made and why.

Re: My EX BG VR6 3.2 build
The Build threads that are a long read are some of the best, especially when going in depth into how they had to tackle some of the challenges, so its quite interesting to read up, theres a lot to be learnt from what everyone else has achieved on this forum before venturing on any modifications myself.

Re: My EX BG VR6 3.2 build
Thought I would tidy up the engine bay a bit so I bought two brand new headlight support brackets. This is what turned up
So they will be going back.
In the end I decided to tidy up my original ones
Sanded them back to remove all the rust and red primer
Gloss black them (3 coats)
Then 3 coats of clear lacquer
Just got to cut and polish them and they will be ready to go back in
They look a lot better than the brand new ones.

Re: My EX BG VR6 3.2 build
That’s shocking for a brand new part! Quality control must be non existent there. Your refurbished ones look so much better.

This is the quality you can expect from pattern parts when it comes to sheet metal sadly. Usually better to restore and save your OEM panels if possibe
