You’ve just missed the show at Tatton Park. It’s a good one! It’ll be on this time next year so keep a look out on the forum as we have a club stand. There’ll be others in the meantime I’m sure though.

Finally had a day off with lovely weather to give the caddy a good clean after a couple weeks of rain. Thoroughly washed the outside and gave the front end a clay bar and polish, something I've been meaning to do for ages. First time clay barring a vehicle and it's definitely the most satisfying thing I've ever done, been going outside just to look at the clouds in my bonnet ImageImageImage

Finally got a weekend to do the Golf + Touran centre console cupholder mod / bastardisation. Took the centre console from a mk6 Golf, measured and cut out the cupholders leaving the supporting piece on the side and the screw fitting in the back. After lots of trialling the fit and sanding until it was a flush fit with the Touran console I plastic welded it in, I melted offcut pieces around the edges to close up any gaps. After testing it around the centre console frame I cut away the centre piece connecting the armrest and gear surround, the cup holder sits on the metal of the gear stick so was solid enough without any other support. The rear vent ducting only needed the mounting part that was previously used for the Touran cupholders removing. Wrapped it in faux suede and fitted, looks great and I have a functional cup holder with sliding lid and a bottle opener to finish it offImageImageImageImageImageImageImageImage

Your cup holders came out fantastic!! I had this very same idea have the plastics upstairs 🤣.

Did u line the cupholder screw up ? Or is it just floating there?

Cheers! They're held by the one screw you can see underneath and a rail it clips into on one side

Covered the end caps of the rear seats in suede to tie them into the front of the cabin and added a little Amazon cargo net to the rear door to hold my gloves now the weather's turned colderImageImage

After the heavy rain and storms we've been having I finished work to find a puddle in the back of my van. The dreaded roof bar leakage! Not big enough to cause any issues but enough that it soaked into the rear head lining and distorted it. Off the bars came to reseal around all the holes and took the opportunity with them out the way to clay bar and ceramic coat the roof. Bars now back on and water right I turned to the head lining. The plan is to install 6 spot lights, 4 in the load area and 2 above the rear passengers, running on a 3 way switch to work with the doors opening and closing and on/off as and when I want them, and a separate dimmer to operate each side. So far I've got the shape cut out, load lights installed and mostly wired up, need a cut out for the switches and then to test them all (the masking tape is temporary). The passenger spot lights will be on a separate circuit, I'll update this thread when I do those. Once this is all mounted and working correctly I'll be covering the other side in the same black faux suede I've used in the front to give the interior some continuityImage

Loving all the suede interior! Will definitely be doing that to mine
Let me know details on wiring the interior lights to come on with the doors and a manual switch, would be interested in copying also!
Lovely van on the inside and out
