Tred's 2012 Caddy Maxi
Bonjour Chaps,
For those of you who care to remember, I had a 2008 Caddy Maxi in Flannel Grey which I sold on to a friend of mine about 2 months ago.
After months of wait, my new van has arrived, although I'll have to wait until tomorrow to actually get it
For the new Caddy, the dealer gave me a link to a more detailed car speccing website (their own internal one) and I discovered that you can actually spec pretty much any colour VW do, including the Flannel Grey of my first van as a no cost option! I'll have that then, I said (after prompting from Dooka). Here are a couple of pics snatched this morning, colour doesn't really show up very well, but its the same as D4RK1's absolutely beautiful van
I might have changed my mind though if I had used my brain a bit more and realised the cost of colour-coding everything, the option not being available with this colour. Doh!
Guess I compensated a bit with the spec list:
Dark interior finish, with carpeted floors
Passenger airbag
Heated and adjustable seats in "Runner" cloth (much nicer then I expected, pic doesn't do it justice)
Bluemotion tech
RNS510 (need to hook it up with a rear view camera somehow)
Bluetooth
A/C with double glazing (essential when you live in the south of France)
Tow hook
ParkPilot
Fog lights
MF leather steering wheel
Under seat storage
Dashboard storage
Glovebox!
Things to do:
19" wheels
Lows
Front window tint
Sound proofing
Rail cover
load bay fitting
A trip to Reflex will surely happen soon...
More to come.

Its the best colour obviously.
Might be the only new MK3 Caddy in this colour in existence as you have to specifically ask for it!

Re: Tred's new 2012 Caddy Maxi 1.6TDi
Managed to start a few things today with a buddy, but the freaking cold weather and lack of light meant that we weren't able to finish
First up is the load bay, here it is all fresh and clean:
Thought I'd do something a little different, so went out and bought some oak flooring! This stuff is a click-fix system so in theory does not need any glue. At this stage I want to just lay it and see how I get on, but no doubt I'll need to adjust/modify it at some point.
Laying out a bit of cork matting to dampen the noise, thinking I might replace this with some dynamat at some point as I've seen others do.
And starting to lay out the flooring. The green cushion was for our cold and aching knees
It got dark before we could finish, so will have to continue tomorrow.

Despite the dark, I couldn't wait to put my new wheels on! Have had them for a while, waiting for the van to arrive.
Off came the original 15s:
And on went the new 19s! Anyone care to guess which ones they are?

Tonz, Tonz, Tonz... You have not been paying attention! Those wheels were on the old van, now gone. They were 18", these are 19". Come on now ;D (guess my signature thing needs to be made a little clearer)Tonz wrote:18" BBS S-Line reps
