@Putford You can cover just the window sections with ply, like I did. It's also dodo mat + dodo superliner behind the ply. Best of both worlds Image

Any advice on carpeting the rear section of the van pillars etc?

I've carpeted, insulated and sound proofed then carpeted my ply. I only have the rear door pillars (hard to explain) of the van left to do.

I've done each side in one piece, including all the pillars and wheel arches. Only one cut in the corner at the bottom, where the wheel arch meets the barn door pillar, as you end up with excess material there and you have to cut it out. It's time consuming, but the end result is much better.

How about the carpet where it meets (or goes under) the door rubber? Does it fit easily underneath or upto the rubber?

just pull the rubber seal off and then carpet to the edge then reattach the rubber seal.

Did you glue round the edges of the ply panels? Just cut some today for mine but not fixed them in yet want to carpet it the same way

Yes mate, they are glued and screwed with 4 self tapping screws per panel.

Nice one, did you have to buy the longer fixing clips for the panel over the void or were the originals long enough?

You may get away with original clips for the door cards. For the rest you'll need longer clips. I have replaced them all, so everything looks the same. They are not that expensive.

I carpet-lined ply panels, in Antracite. It becomes addictive though Image I did all the trim in the back then moved onto the headlining & shelf in the cab Image ImageImage

Hi mate,

I have done the same as opposed to the other method of carpeting straight onto the van after sound proofing and insulating, all I have left to do is the rear door pillars, your's looks nice and neat with your wheel arches and side ply carpeted panels,how did you do this? Cut a long narrow piece and work with that?

@ConnorCaddy exactly that mate. Cut a section off enough to cover, glue to down, trim it up. Job done

@BillyGilly

Got any photos of the headlining and shelf? Might order more carpet to do the same
