Good luck with that and I will watch your progress with interest. I cheated somewhat in that most of the mechanical stuff was already done when i bought the van, but I have learnt so much about vehicle electronics, wiring looms, ECU controls, security systems, APY vs Bam engines etc etc etc, but I'm really looking forward to driving it :D Currently waiting for a petrol fuel pump as the diesel one does not give out enough pressure, which is special order from Germany as its only the Caddy that has the fuel float level integrated into it, apparently.

Was trying to attach some photos but I'm a bit of a luddite with the technology, if any one can point me in the right direction.

This is something I'd be VERY keen on seeing too.

Most liekly to actually end up in a touran over here (hardly any Caddys and they're all expensive too!). The 2.0 FSI doesn't inspire any thoughts of excitement, but something with a bit of performance, and enough space for the kidlets is on the cards - fitting 3 seats in the back of the Mrs-mobile is a bit tricky, and our 84 Transporter probably isn't ideal for her driving everyday.

The problem I have, is that all the safety features of the caddy.touran MUST remain operational - ie ABS, Stability, Traction control etc. I'm trying to school myself up on the electronical side of things!

Not sure which engine mounts were used but the engine sits well in the bay, but the gearbox is the s3 unit with the rear prop shaft blanked off.

Picked the van up yesterday, the lad that has been doing the wiring has done a sterling job, and got a short glimpse of the power on tap, couldn't smile wide enough for about 5 mins before it blew one of the boost hoses to bits ( would post a pic but don't know how?) Tomorrow's shopping list starts with hoses and an urgency to get the upgraded brakes on whilst putting the dash back together.

Hopefully some pics of my van! Still very much work in progress, putting new boost pipes on at present as the ones fitted weren't reinforced so burst when the turbo boosted for the first time! Also having power steering / abs issues at the moment, think it is down to electrical issues again. Engine install a bit crude at the moment as trying to get the running right before tidying up the pipe work.

Thought it was about time I updated my page as a lot has gone on with my van but still not got this thing running right Happy that all the wiring and electronics are now working but had a problem that the head melted which I think was due to a spurious map that had been messed with causing this!!!!

Pistons were damaged as well so decided it was engine out time before considering my options. Decided to rebuild existing engine to avoid any further electrical issues with ecu's etc rather than fit a replacement engine.

After a lot of cleaning and machining, the engine is ready to go back in
