Re: bulkhead cover panels
Can anyone identify the part number for the expanding block/captive nut? That looks like an OEM brochure.tommyzooom wrote:Guys, just to gauge interest, and some help.
I can make these, the same as the pic below, no problem.
But I'm struggling to figure out how to attach them..... It could be cable-tied on of course, but I'd rather it be more oem like the picture. They seem to have an expanding block/captive nut, but I'm struggling to find any large enough to fit the bulkhead holes.
I possibly could make some custom blocks of course,
Some lateral thinking needed.
Any thoughts on this?,
I'd be interested in a finished solution like this too

Re: bulkhead cover panels
Been googling this all night and no body seems to know the part numbers. It's exactly what I'm after. Was going to b&q some Perspex but don't really want to just screw it in. Also want to remove the mesh.

Could we source the part number of the fixings in the mesh? I could do with a dozen fixings (with the screws toostan-the-man wrote:Theres oem bulkhead with perspex instead of mesh but its only LHD

Re: bulkhead cover panels
Part numbers would be good, but I think it's an aftermarket part.
Today was prototype day....
I've a sample of rubber edging on order.
(the perspex has a protective film on both sides, that's why it looks cloudy/scratched)

Re: bulkhead cover panels
I was in conversation with a fella today.
He is able to laser-cut these, laser drill the holes etc which greatly cuts down on the risk of star cracking.
I'm still waiting for a sample of edging, But I'd say we are looking at a rough price of £40 delivered per set. £30 without edging, but I'd say it will add some rigidity.
They will be completely removable....no holes need drilled into your bulkhead
Still interested?

I definately would be..but I want to remove the cross section grid so it just looks like a window so would probably need to figure out another way of fixing them.

Looking good!
Rear ended and killed
1.9 TDi DSG indian blue wrapped in slightly darker blue lol, now replaced with a new Highline 1.6 TDi DSG bit naked without the logos yet - rather fun but not quite my Audi S4, but makes me smile as much as my 2.6e 80 Cabriolet!!
