Tire review

Post by Liam »

Guys ive had my nokian i3 s fitted for a while now with no major issues all seemed well until today when i got stuck 3 times in the snow while last year on similar snowfall my van drove everywhere

I got out to have a look see what my trouble is and these nokians have very little threads cut accross the pattern mostly grooves that run around the tire with only an inch of small cuts each side which give absolutely no grip once they easily clog with snow i may as well have slicks

I cant even get up the small hill just outside my house on the main road i slipped back down it the first time and so spread some sand for the next time round and i may as well have not bothered second time round even with a run at it the esp kicks in cos im sliding and ive run out of puff before im at the top ! Barely made it last time its snow joke

i know the good perfomance of dunlop but the best i tested is goodyear ultragrip 7. for more info google the TCS ( Swiss touring club) test for winter tire: both dunlop and goodyear are at the top.

I'm currently running Vredestein Ultracs, a summer tyre, and have been faultless in all this snow..

Will be ordering some Wintrac Xtremes in the new year ready for next winter..

Just need to find some winter wheels now, I WANT SOME HELIO WHEELS :)..

I am on Fulda Kristall Controle it's a winter tire only driving one week with my car and tires but had no problems on the snow . It came as nr.4 on the winter tire test of the german adac . Only downside is that its a little expensive payt mine 115euro's x4 butt good tires are pricless.
