I was quoted £650 genuine VW part painted and fitted by an independent body shop, VW wanted £909 plus VAT painted and fitted. I highly recommend second-hand seen some for around 250€ delivered from the Netherlands but then obviously you may need to add paint and the addition PDC module etc

Waiting for new front bumper before colour coding but this mk4 bumper is so easy to fit 6 screws. 2 on each wheel arch then 2 in the rear metal bar.

I think it's the brackets that make the difference, older sensors will fit but you'll need the old style brackets. Also, some bumpers have 6 sensors I believe, 1 each side and 4 at the rear.

Mines just aftermarket sensors. Easy to fit as the factory holes are below the metal bar. Factory holes just needed widening by 5mm.

I got a set that fit in the mk 4 bumper perfectly. About 45.00. And theybare angled like they should be. Fitted right in the factory holes.Image

The 6 sensor ones have Park Assist, the four sensor ones are for PDC

Hi, have you got your head around this yet?
What do you need to fit the old PDC sensors to the new bumper. Part numbers would be good :D

No this is on a back burner for me but from previous advice the old sensors will fit if you use the mk3 style sensor brackets otherwise you need to new sensors and possibly upgrade the module under the steering wheel to accept them.

Thanks for the reply. I’ve read the thread but I’ve not had the bumper off yet so I don’t know what’s what and I haven’t been able to find the parts on ETKA yet I bet it’s really obvious if you have both bumpers in front of you
I’m sure we’ll get it sorted eventually a bit like you it’s on my wish list, not at the top but getting nearer

@ Zak: old post here, but can you help me? Where did you get your mk4 bumper, is it oem? I am looking at Poliplast and the seller is telling me that I have to replace the crash bar as otherwise it'll come up 1cm short to the arches. It is identical to the oem bumper and it's a commonly done mod by folk on here. Did it fit your mk3 crash bar and come up fluxh to the arches, oem style? Thanks

Something I'm looking to do to once I've got the other jobs completed so going to be a while.

So are we saying you can fit mk3 PDC to mk4 bumper, I haven't had the bumper off yet but thought the mounting brackets for the sensors were just double sided taped into the bumper ?

You can I believe has the holes on the mk4 bumper are 18mm, the correct size for the pdc sensors.
The aftermarket ones that look like 4 small painted spot lights require a 20mm hole and are spring loaded.
