Re: Leaf springs lowering
Doc's hit the nail on the head here. If you drop to the next hole down, the leafs will stretch out and the van will lower with it.

Re: Leaf springs lowering
So see the holes on the top pic, how there are 4 then a space with none, then 1 on its own....can that be used? That’s what mine looks like but it’s in the top 4th hole. I had hoped I could’ve gone into that higher 5th one to lower the rear?stu987 wrote: ↑Fri Jul 27, 2018 8:36 am Hi doc definitely not the case, I'll post a pic of the kit, the darkside developments kit has hole going all the way up this one just jumps a couple not tried it on any others but surely if I come on a lower hole its only going to lift the van?

Re: Leaf springs lowering
Mine is currently in the 5th one see the pic above going to try the hole closest to the road and see if it sits lower, as doc suggested

Re: Leaf springs lowering
Bit off topic but what’s the ride like with this kit? I have been looking at a few options for mine but don’t want it to ride like my old golfs did on coil overs

Re: Leaf springs lowering
Feels ok to me, fairly harsh over sleeping policemen and potholes but then what coilovers aren't? Plus I've got 19" wheels and if I remember 235 35 tyres on, pretty low on the front and really close to bump stops at the rear (thinking of cutting them down) all depends on the quality of kit you buy I guess kW and bilstein are always going to out way the cheaper options but you have to way up the extra comfort to £££s spent

Re: Leaf springs lowering
Right guys these rear hangers are a pain! I thought they was supposed to lower the vehicle! I've finally got round to moving them a couple of holes and it looks higher than standard height now!!

Probably need to move them the other way then buddy. Also if you have jacked it up. It takes a bit to settle.

Re: Leaf springs lowering
I was going down the darkside development kit with the front springs, but I see the prosports have front shocks as well. I can't have it too low as some of the lakes i fish have horrendous tracks. Any suggestions which kit I would be best to purchase.stu987 wrote: ↑Fri Jul 27, 2018 8:36 am Hi doc definitely not the case, I'll post a pic of the kit, the darkside developments kit has hole going all the way up this one just jumps a couple not tried it on any others but surely if I come on a lower hole its only going to lift the van?

Re: Leaf springs lowering
I've always thought facelift maxi's run really high at rear, this is my pre facelift maxi life, look at height to hanger position, if I move my leaf all the way up which I tried the wheel disappeared into the arch, I'm on darkside hangers

Re: Leaf springs lowering
This is the sort of ride height I was hoping for do you have a side profile pic of your hanger and leaf spring? I'm wondering if it's the leaf springs itself, and If the curvature/shape of the leaf is more aggressive on the BG vanstorque777 wrote:I've always thought facelift maxi's run really high at rear, this is my pre facelift maxi life, look at height to hanger position, if I move my leaf all the way up which I tried the wheel disappeared into the arch, I'm on darkside hangers
