2014 Caddy 1.6 - Diesel fumes in cabin..

So last on my list of niggles is a Diesel fumes smell in the cabin when stationary, it's coming through the vents.

I've changed the cabin filter which didn't really help.. I noticed the exhaust manifold and turbo is quite close to the blower intake, wonder if this is related?

Anyone has this issue before?

It’s the copper seals on the injectors, if you have caught it early it won’t be a bad job. If you have ignored it for a long period it can get pricey.

Ah should of been a bit more clear, the smell coming through the vents is BURNT diesel.

Injector seals would smell like burnt Diesel?

If you mean me it was injector seals, and theyd been leaking for some time the fuel was crystallized all over the place, messy job and it cost me an injector as it was welded in there. You can also hear these things leaking under the bonnet, sounds like a train chugging on idle.

Checked the injectors, no noise or signs of leakage.

The smell is diesel exhaust fumes, not diesel fuel.

I had this on my T5, and it was caused by a crack on the inlet manifold. It's quite a common fault on them. Might be worth a look to rule it out.

Crack on the exhaust manifold you mean?

I've read the turbo exhaust clamp can leak? Anyone experience this before?

mcbonio, I have a similar problem but not sure the new cabin filter i have fitted will fix it, there is a small amount of soot around the turbo v-clamp, is exhaust gas leaking from here a common problem?
