It was certainly true in 2017 when I got mine, not surprised it’s the same now. Still, cheap enough upgrade and very easy to do. Just have to make sure it’s the right one for the engine.

So I bought one on eBay, and when it arrived the back left corner of the cover where it clips onto the engine was broken off. Annoying, checked the advert and the picture showed the back left corner was missing. Not knowing what it should look like, and the small eBay advert picture fooled me, and I paid for it. That is deceptive, but I assume no refund as I got what was advertised

Did the description say damaged, broken or missing corner?
Did the advert say new part or used?
Seems a but underhanded to sell it without mentioning it.

I’d at least ask for either a return as it’s not as expected (you pay return postage) or request that the seller gives a discount and returns 10-20%

Don’t forget that you have feedback to leave. And it’s ok to leave your opinion. So if you think it’s underhanded, say so. Then the next buyer gets to know

If your not happy with it return it. If the seller did not point out that part of the cover was broken then you have every right to return it. Assuming you paid by PayPal you can get reimbursed for the return shipping.

If it came from a breakers yard, there’s a chance the seller didn’t know it was broken, and may well be willing to replace or refund.

I think that’s Google Shopping picking up some bad listings, have a look at the natural search results they’re VW... the Audi one may fit as several are the same but with VW/Audi/Skoda/Seat badges. Don’t buy until you’ve checked your engine code.

Example https://www.stevensvwspares.com/vw-pass ... 04l103925q

From what I can see the Audi one has R suffix not Q but do some research on your engine code, there’s a few subtle differences across engine types.

Does anyone have an idea what engine cover will fit a 1.4 TGI CNG engine? The car is from 2018 but most covers I find are for TDI versions, maybe the same one?

Hi looking for some info on a engine cover for 1.9 tdi bls engine the oil filler is on the left as you look from the front and the dipstick is more central. I think at some point before I bought the van the dipstick may have been snapped off and replaced but not sure if it’s the correct one part no does however match the reg no...got a picture of one from C Chis but dipstick in his is to the left as you look from the front. Any help or photos would be greatly appreciated. Many thanks..

I returned the broken one and got a refund. I then bought an Audi 2.0 tdi cover which is identical other than the badge. A fraction of the price as all Audi's come with them and there is no market for them. Caddy ones difficult to find as they don't come standard and few van buyers would specify them , so much more expensive
