Just on with ordering them for our maxi kombi. In the black colour. So them in a new life in the showroom. Should look way better than the standard panels in ours.

How did you get on with the parts your ordered? I've just aqquired a maxi kombi and would like to put some trim bits on the rear doors in mine. Don't suppose you have a list of the part numbers that you ordered from VW?

Do these afford extra rear wheel clearance when opening the sliding door?
My ply lining is catching on my rear wheel sometimes (if I'm parked on a hill) and was hoping if I fit one of these it wont stick out as much as the ply does on the bottom corner... Fixing my pokey little problem.

Depending how thick/rigid you ply is they may give you a little extra clearance, but it won’t be anything significant. Mine usually has a millimeter or so depending how it’s parked or where the suspension height is at, but it’s very close.

:? Thanks, it’s confusing to think of since there are so many variables, perhaps a better way to describe it would be: How much do these panels protrude from the door metalwork?

Due to the curve of the door, the corner of the ply nearest my rear wheel sticks out by at least the full thickness of the ply, which is about 3-4mm.
Ideally I would take off the ply and carpet the metalwork, however the cavity of the door has the locking mechanism and therefor I need to cover it with something.
It looks as though the corner of the panels sits nicely into the door, hopefully it’s pretty flush? I think I’ll visit a showroom and nose at a kombi if I can find one, see how it looks.

Hopefully these help. Bear in mind I have arches fitted and also the panel has been trimmed so you will gain extra in standard form.

Thanks that’s perfect, looks as though it still protrudes a little then. Your trim looks lovely btw 👌
