Our Bkd Conversion

Post by Iparkes »

Evening all

Thought I'd share a few pics of what will become our new company van.
It was purchased with engine failure, so I thought we may aswell carry out a bkd conversion. Will keep you all updated as I get more pics.

So as I come to the closing stages of this build, I can honestly say there's been some points when I thought, why am I bothing lol.

But I'm glad I pushed through with it. Everything from the touran is in and working.

6 speed box
Electric power steering
ABS
Webasto
Aircon
Driver / passenger airbags inc side bags ( curtain had to be deactivated )
Touran door mirrors

The wiring was a challenge tho 🙄

What was involved in the conversion and what problems accrued did you use the standard ecu and loom or the bkd loom ECU and clocks

Is the front end a straight bolt on or do you need to modify the wings? Very interested in carrying this out🙂

I like how you think you’re in the closing stages mate......they’re never finished.....wheels, stereo, spoilers, new wheels, seats, more wheels.....it never stops. Ever!
Well done on the conversion mate, I do like the v2 front end

Dude honest opinion get it done ASAP I’ve just had mine done and got it back today don’t know if people have said on this forum but you can actually run the caddy loom an just modify the 6 pin connection the bkd golf wiring loom requires to the standard 3 port n75 valve the standard caddy uses I had a BLS 1.9 tdi engine but decided to do conversion when I smashed my sump off as van was lowered (a lot) at that time on coils an the reversed leaf springs kit, the power of these engines are unreal put a darkside egr delete on it with egr cooler I think it was a maf delete an my friend who does the tuning said he could safely get 195bhp comfortably or if I really want he can take it to around 220bhp but he said would suggest bigger turbo so it doesn’t sh*t it’s pants in his words 🤣 Castle Performance is his tuning company if anybody was interested he is in the south west of England Somerset based
