Powerflex Bushes

Post by baxter6070 »

Getting the van lowered in the next month or two. Is it worth upgrading the bushes on the leafs to powerflex? Anyone have them fitted?

He I have just remove my rear axle as I'm selling it due to going 4 wheel drive but I had the whole van Polly bushed and it makes a massive difference your notice the rear axle movies side to side more when it's lowered but when you Polly push it it hardly moves at all

Def recommend powerflex all round best thing I ever did though the front arms are a pain as the subframe needs dropping. Worth the effort though, my maxi handles like a go kart now

I second poly bushing, it’s well worth doing. I have the power flex black series fit in the rear along with shackle spacer blocks, rear is totally solid with no movement at all. I will be doing the front also when I make a start on the front end.
Fitting is relatively easy just pull the old bushes out using a bush puller (could also possibly use a piece of threaded bar and sockets if you don’t have a bush puller). New bushes are in two halves so just slide in, just make sure you clean up the body/spring hole and grease them well as they can cause a creak if not. Also remember to torque everything up with the axle loaded.

Below images have all the torque settings for the rear also note which bolts you you need to renew. If you have a shackle kit fit chances are they will no longer be original stretch bolts so these will need torqued dependent on their bolt grade 8.8 80Nm, 10.9 115Nm etc with new nyloc nuts as a minimum.
Hope this helps.
