Prepping and painting

Post by LS Spark »

I want to have a go at sanding, priming and painting my number plate plinth.

I’ve searched through the forum but can’t find any tips or advice on what sort of sand paper to use to get the best surface for priming.

Plastic primer? Adhesion promoters?

I’d prefer to have it done at a body shop but can’t be without my van. I can’t find a used/spare online.

Could
Gloss Black Badges, ‘KillAllWipers’ Delete, Van-X tinted HL brake lens, Van-X glove box, Van-X smoked side repeaters

Flat it down with 800 wet n dry (wet) it's not heavily textured so it smooths off easily. Give it 2 light coats of plastic primer, then a couple of coats of 2k primer. Flat that with 800. Paint it your chosen colour.
