I don't hear it very much since the roll back and remap!

I’ve never been aware of a DPF regenerating and I’ve been driving diesels with DPFs since 2011. I’m on the motorway most days though.
I remember, not long after I’d bought it, my A8 once or twice smoking like mad from the front end when I’d stopped. Thought it was on fire!! Dropped it in the garage next day and they couldn’t see anything wrong. Often wondered if that was a DPF regen?

before I had the rollback done, it was regenning (is that a word?) all the time.....at least a couple of times a week!
This is the First time I've noticed it since I had it done back in September, I think?

Just shows though, how much harder the whole drivetrain was being dorced to work, I guess?

That ‘fix’ was bad news. I never had mine done. There’s something wrong if it needs to regen that often.

Mine has caught me out a couple of times stedlocks, I had mine done in September, before it would re gen every 50 miles and even if I popped 2 miles to my parents house it only seemed to do it as I pulled up , fans kicking in. Now it’s different the revs go up and there’s a deeper throaty sound to the engine and power seems decreased, I have had the dpf light on as well.

I'm hanging on till my 2 year 'goodwill warranty' runs out.

Then it's straight in for a roll back and stage 1.

Unfortunately my daily journeys are not usually more than 6 miles, so I get regens at least 3 times a week!

A pain in the backside , ruination of diesel engine. That's what it is. All over crackpot ideas about emmision controls.
Mine was doing re gen every 50 mile . Now it's 150 mile. That's @ a price of changing my driving style and doing unwanted extra milage.
Hands up my fault.should never have bought another diesel Hindsight wish I'd had some.
